Principal's Message

Wawa, Wominjika.
Here at Old Orchard Primary School, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we visit each day, the Wurrunguri and Woiwurrung people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge and respect the elders and leaders past and present and the elders and leaders of all of the cultures and nationalities that are part of the Old Orchard Primary School community. We express our gratitude towards the orchards that were kept in place by the peoples on this land before us. We thank the traditional owners for sharing this beautiful land that we all love, and for keeping the land, sky, waterways and animals all in great condition for thousands of years, not only for themselves but for all the generations to come.
End of Term
Just a reminder that Term 3 finishes today with students being dismissed from their classrooms at the earlier time of 2:30 PM. There will be a whole school assembly in the gymnasium commencing at 1:45 PM. Term 4 commences on Monday, October 6th.
RUOK Day
On Wednesday our whole school celebrated R U OK? Day! Throughout the day, students learned about the importance of looking out for each other and how a simple question like “Are you okay?” can make a big difference. Each class spent time with their buddy classes, enjoying a range of activities. To finish off a wonderful day, the students each had a turn to enjoy the disco run by our wonderful Music teacher Rhiannon. It was so fantastic to see the students smiling, moving their bodies, including others and having lots of fun. RUOK Day was a fantastic way to come together as a school community to celebrate wellbeing, friendship, and the power of checking in on one another.
