Year 2 - Newsletter

Dear Parents, 

We hope you are all looking forward to the school holidays! We have had a wonderful Term 3 together. Some highlights from this term include; The Billy Kart Incursion, Book Day, Healesville Sanctuary excursion, Football Day, platoons, writing an autobiography and information report and our inquiry Design unit…. just to mention a few things!

What have we been up to in the classroom?

Maths

In maths we have been learning about length, volume, capacity and mass. The students have enjoyed exploring these concepts with lots of hands-on learning to explore measurement.

Literacy

In writing students have been working on creating animal information reports. We practiced note taking information about animals under subheadings from books in the classroom. We then transferred this skill to collecting information about a chosen animal at Healsville Sanctuary and recording in note form to take back to school. All of this information has been used to create animal reports which are being published on posters and look fantastic!

Friday 19th September - Last Day of Term 3 (2.30 finish)

Monday 6th October- First day of Term 4 

Monday 3rd November- Pupil Free Day 

Tuesday 4th November- Melbourne Cup

Have a wonderful holiday break and we look forward to seeing everyone back for our final term of Grade 2!
