Principal News

Hooptime

On Monday 7 teams of students represented our school at Hooptime. The tournament was held at Diamond Valley stadium. All the teams put 100 % into their games and were wonderful ambassadors for our school. A special thank you to the year 6 student coaches that supported their teams on the day and to Jarrod Wait for leading this event. I have heard from some students that the highlight of the day for them was being involved in an evacuation drill at the stadium in the middle of a game all over a piece of burning toast!

Footy Day

Yesterday we held our annual footy day starting the day with a parade. It was great to see our community adorned in team colours and representing other codes. Our student leaders made very entertaining speeches about teams (with no biased insightful suggestions from Mr D, of course). Team tunes were blasted and by far the best one was the last one. GO PIES!

The PFA worked their magic yet again to provide a yummy footy day lunch. Special thanks to Kimberly for heading up the team. The work behind the scenes that went into ordering and organising was huge. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped today with the food preparation and serving. I walked into the serving area today and it was buzzing. The students loved it, and it is not an easy task getting all those meals served to 400+ hungry tums! The teamwork was awesome, and I extend my gratitude on behalf of the staff and students when I say Thank you for making the day extra special for our students.

Staff vs Students Volleyball match

With fingers crossed at this stage (rain and wind needs to stay away) we will hold our term staff versus year 6 students sport match. This term it is volleyball and as I write this, I predict that the students will probably excel in the coordination and agility stakes that are required for this game. The staff will come with glasses and grit and can hopefully see the ball and avoid slipping, tripping and falling. We will start the game at the beginning of lunch and invite you to come and cheer the more senior payers on, as we’ll need it!

Final assembly

Our final assembly for the term will be at 2:15pm today. Students in Prep to year 2 will be dismissed from their classrooms at 2:30pm following the early assembly. Students in year 3-6 will be dismissed at 2:30 pm from the assembly court.

Wishing all our families a great school holiday time together.
