Staff v Students Basketball Match

It was a packed out ENPS stadium, rocking with very loud cheering and chanting from the sidelines, that saw staff take on the Year Six students on Tuesday 16th September. The students played very well and dished it right up to us for the whole game. Mr McIntosh unfortunately went down in the first minute with a rolled ankle so he had to watch from the sidelines. We looked to be in trouble as we were one rotation down already.

Archie K, James B, Will S, Cedar, and Mia H led the way for the students in a very spirited display on the boards. It was only the sheer height and reach advantage of Mr Mather, Mr McFarland and Miss Wirth along with the coolness under pressure and guile displayed by Miss Todd and Cassie that eventually got the teachers over the line. Mr D’Souza was awesome in general play but just couldn’t nail his usual layups or alley-oop shots.

The eventual score was the teachers winning 27-19.
