Beyond the Bell

Reflection on the G.A.T.E.Ways Online Leadership Program
During Week Seven of Term Three, three Year Five students, Ebony, Oliver and Ethan attended the G.A.T.E.Ways Online Leadership Program. It was a very interesting learning experience - a new and exciting opportunity for them to feel the power of speech.
‘During the program, we all learned how to control our voices when doing public speaking. We practised silly tongue twisters and explored different ways of expressing ourselves when we speak. After that, we did an exercise called “How to Release the Butterfly”. This activity combined breathing strategies with speaking to a crowd, helping us feel more confident.’
Ebony shared her “I Am Poem”, which was created as part of the leadership program:
I am passionate about women’s rights
I am the person I’ve always wanted to be
I am unexpected, that’s just me
I’m my number one to me
I’m not a person wasting my time regretting
Science Talent Search Results Are In!
We are delighted to share that the Science Talent Search (STS) results have arrived - and what an outstanding year it has been for our young scientists!
Throughout Term Two, students explored their curiosity through investigations, models, inventions, computer programs, and creative writing projects. Their hard work, creativity, and persistence have been recognised at a state level through the Science Teachers’ Association of Victoria (STAV).
We congratulate all participating students on their outstanding results for their commitment to scientific inquiry and problem-solving:
