Celebration of Learning

As we reach the end of Week 10, it has been wonderful to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy and rewarding start to the school year. Over the past few weeks, we have seen some truly amazing community events that highlight the strength, pride, and connection within our school.

A particular highlight this week was our Celebration of Learning. We were delighted to welcome hundreds of parents and carers into our classrooms to share in the learning that has taken place across the first ten weeks of the year. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces and to witness the pride of both students and their families as they showcased their work and achievements.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support this event. Your involvement makes a significant difference and reinforces the strong partnership between home and school. We look forward to continuing this tradition, with opportunities each term for families to visit classrooms, celebrate learning, and see the goals your children are working towards and achieving.

Harmony Day

Last week, we also proudly celebrated Harmony Day, and what a vibrant day it was! On Monday, our school was a sea of colour, with many students wearing orange along with a wonderful array of cultural dress. It is always a joy to see students embracing and sharing their cultural backgrounds.

A special part of the day was hearing from student representatives across different classes, who spoke about this year’s theme, “Culture connects us all.” Students enjoyed bringing in artefacts that represent their heritage—throughout the school we saw drums, food, didgeridoos, flags, and traditional costumes. These experiences provide rich opportunities for learning, understanding, and respect.

Our staff also joined in the celebrations, sharing their own cultural backgrounds during a special Harmony Day morning tea, further strengthening the sense of community across our school. More of Harmony Day is featured further in this newsletter.

Student Leadership

Our student leadership team recently had the opportunity to attend the GRIP Student Leadership Conference, with 23 of our student leaders participating in this engaging and inspiring day. GRIP stands for Generosity, Responsibility, Integrity, and People, and the conference is designed to develop these key qualities in young leaders. Throughout the day, students took part in interactive sessions, discussions, and activities that focused on practical ways they can make a positive impact in our school right now. They returned feeling motivated, with a clearer understanding of their role as leaders and many valuable ideas to help strengthen our school community.

Staffing Update

We extend our very best wishes to Amy, Holly and Julia as they commence their family leave. We thank them for their dedication and contribution to our school community and look forward to hearing their wonderful news in the weeks ahead. We are also pleased to welcome Rosie to 2AA ... we know she will be a fantastic addition to the team.
