Big Group Hug
Every child deserves to feel warm and comfortable. Unfortunately, many children in our community are living without the most basic necessities - warm clothing and bedding. This is where you come in!
We’re asking the RPS community to donate new and pre-loved winter clothing and bed linen for children aged 1-16 (sizes 3-16 most needed) for distribution to the families Big Group Hug supports in the cold winter months, and year-round.
Donations can be dropped off at the office.
ANZAC Appeal
From next Monday 30 March, JSC representatives will be coming around to each class every day, giving students and teachers the opportunity to purchase the following, in the lead up to ANZAC Day on April 25th.
- Badges for $1, $2 and $5
- Wristbands for $3
- Bag tags for $4
- Pens for $5
These items can also be purchased at the office and all funds go towards the ANZAC Appeal. Thank you for supporting an important cause.
Smile Squad Six Month Fluoride Varnish Visit
The Holstep Health Smile Squad team are heading back to our school from the 21st of April to complete six-monthly fluoride varnish applications for those students who have provided consent. Fluoride varnish applications help make sure students have the best chance of preventing tooth decay, so we’re excited Smile Squad are coming back in term 2.
Consent for this fluoride varnish application was provided when students’ initial consent forms were returned. However, if anyone has changed their mind and do not wish to receive a fluoride varnish application, they can contact Holstep Health directly to let them know. Please contact the Smile Squad team via: 9450 2000
The Smile Squad team look forward to visiting soon.
Cross Country -
GRADES 3 - 6, PARENT HELPERS NEEDED!
As the school gears up for our upcoming cross-country event, we would like your help to help with marshalling on the day.
Grades: 3-6
Date: Tuesday 28th April (Term 2, Week 2)
Time: 8.50am - 11.00 am
Your role as a parent helper will involve guiding and directing students along the designated course, cheering them on, and ensuring their safety throughout the event. Your presence and support will not only contribute to the success of the cross-country event but will also create a positive and encouraging atmosphere for our young athletes. All helpers need to hold a working with children’s card and have completed the school induction. (Our wonderful Ally in the office can assist you)
If you can help out, please email me at kelli.zealley@education.vic.gov.au I will provide further details closer to the date.
Chicken Update!
Our 3 new chickens are settling into the flock very well, although Ginger is still letting them know that she is the boss!
We are looking for new families to join the roster! We need about 6 more families.
It’s a low commitment, let them out, then put them away before sunset.
It’s that easy!
Plus, you have the support of the chicken crew WhatsApp group.
So, if you could help and would like some free eggs, please send me an email or message on WhatsApp.
This April school holidays you can help by feeding them anything green, they love corn as well. They also love your garden’s weeds! (Please Avoid!): Potatoes, avocado and onion family.
Thanks, on behalf of the flock!
