Harmony Week

Harmony Week holds a special place in my heart, as we come together as a united College community to celebrate with pride our different cultures.

In our world today, we cannot overlook the suffering and challenges that many endure. From conflicts tearing apart nations to the silent struggles faced by individuals within our communities - the need for harmony, empathy, and compassion has never been more necessary. Yet, even amid despair, we hold onto hope that through our collective efforts, we can sow the seeds of peace and reconciliation.

As Martin Luther King Jr once proclaimed, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." These words echo the essence of Harmony Day, reminding us that it is through love, understanding, and unity that we can overcome the divisions that plague our world.

Together, as a diverse community bound by a common purpose, let us walk hand in hand, knowing that Jesus walks beside us, guiding us towards a future where harmony is present for all in the world.

In our classrooms and beyond, let us strive to be the bearers of grace and compassion, the agents of change in a troubled world, and the champions of harmony. We have been celebrating our differences this week, recognising that it is our unique backgrounds and perspectives that enrich our collective tapestry.

As we travel this part of our journey together, let us remember that the path to harmony is not always easy, but it is always worth pursuing. Let us lean on each other for support, drawing strength from our shared values and aspirations.

I urge each and every one of you to embrace the spirit of Harmony Week not just this week, but every day. Let us be instruments of peace, spreading love and kindness wherever we go.
