Term 1 - Week 9
Welcome to Week 9,
Last Sunday we commenced Holy Week with Palm Sunday and today we enter into the Sacred Paschal Triduum that culminates with the rising of Jesus on Easter Sunday. This time of significant reflection was honored at St Nicholas School this morning through our Stations of the Cross Liturgy.
I encourage our parents to take some time to talk with their children about this, the most important, week in the Church’s calendar.
Green Day and Art Show
Providing our students with a well rounded education was on display at St Nicholas during last Friday’s Green Day and Art Competition. These two fantastic events also brought significant joy to our school community.
I would like to thank our Year 6 teachers for their coordination and our Year 6 students for their leadership of the Green Day stalls. I would also like to thank Amy Henry (and her band of helpers) for their efforts in the coordination and organisation of the Art Competition.
I am delighted to report these two events also raised over $1500 towards our schools Caritas/Project Compassion Appeal. What a wonderful achievement.

Colour Run
If St Nicholas Art Competition and Green Day didn’t bring enough joy to our school last Friday, the day ended with a rainbow explosion in the form of the Colour Run. What an incredible community event coordinated by our dedicated and hard working PT&F. An enormous thank you to the PT&F, led by Hana Skilton.
In regards to the PT&F, the committee is actively seeking a secretary. I ask all our parents and friends to think seriously about taking on this rewarding position.
St Nicholas School Advisory Council
Recently our St Nicholas School Advisory Council met for the first time in 2024. This meeting also doubled as the Annual General Meeting. During the AGM, Mrs Jessica Kidd and Mr Mitch Jones were elected onto the Council. Mr David Ison and Mrs Narelle Moore were also elected to the positions of Chair and Secretary respectively.
I thank all members of the School Council for volunteering their time and expertise to support the staff and students of St Nicholas.

WARNING: STRANGE RABBIT SPOTTED AT ST NICHOLAS
Finally, without causing hysteria, I would like to warn our parents to keep their eyes open after a strange bunny rabbit was recently spotted in our learning spaces.
I have also informed our Kindergarten and Year 1 staff to please keep their eyes open.
Wishing everyone a happy, holy and safe Easter.
John Clery
