Regional Swimming

Congratulations to Jude, Milla and Addison in last week’s Regional Swimming competition in Horsham. All had outstanding results in a very fast field – Jude placed 3rd and 6th, Milla placed 6th and Addison placed 3rd. An outstanding effort by all our swimmers!

Jude has also been busy with his Life Saving activities, recently winning two gold medals at the Life Saving Victoria Junior State Championships.

Congratulations District Aths Team

A big well done to our squad of 60 who took part in the District Aths on Monday. We had terrific representation for Buninyong and all our athletes are to be congratulated on their effort, sportspersonship and behaviour. We look forward to receiving the results and notifying those who have made it through to Division Aths.

A big thank you to Mr G, Anna, Lyndal, Felicity and Shona who gave up their day to enable our team to attend. They were an enormous support to our students and our school. Thank you! Thank you also to all the supporters who made there way down at various points throughout the day to cheer our competitors on.

Afterschool Netball Opportunity

Buninyong Primary School is planning on entering on team/s into the Darroch Afterschool Netball Competition at Llanberris Netball Stadium. These will be run on Tuesday afternoons (game times expected to be 4pm, 5pm and 6pm) in Term 2 (commencing 23 April, 2024) and is a participation competition only (i.e. there are no finals). The competition will run for nine weeks. Lunchtime training sessions may run if there is an adult available.

Grade 3-6 students (boys and girls) interested in joining a team will need to register via Compass and make payment before 27 March, 2024. Please note that we will endeavour to include all interested students and preferred days. Teams will be decided by Claire Morris and will be based around the groups of Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6.

The cost is $50 (+ VNA if required) and will need to be paid upon registration (27 March, 2024). A refund will be given to those not placed in a team. Uniform will be provided this year and the hire of these is included in the cost. Please note that own transport to and from games will be required each week. This will not be a staffed event and we will be relying on parental assistance at the game to coach and score. Please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in filling the coaching/scorers roll. N.B. teams will not be entered without a designated coach.
