SRC Survey results

A big congratulations to all students for their contributions to the term 1 playground survey.

Overall the results were very positive across all year levels and across the different play spaces we have at Trinity.

Here are a few points to mention in class meetings and follow up conversations:

  • Students playing on the big green slide and adventure playground need reminding about moving safely and not playing tag games.
  • Soccer balls on the yard can be scary for our preps. Remind students that the soccer area is not for playing games.
  • Students enjoy the quiet areas outside the 3/4 classrooms and the junior area with games . Suggestions were made for drawing and reading in the quiet area

The new cubby house and junior play kitchen will be an exciting addition to the play spaces next term. Again thank you to the P and F for your generous fundraising!!

Keeping yard clean and tidyeveryone

At the end of every break check our class area and do a quick tidy up

    Suggestions from the SRC

In the quiet area outside the year 3/4 - drawing or  playing card games.

Safety issues from the SRC

  • Soap in the girls toilets upstairs is being wasted- on the floor and mirror. Please tell your teacher if you see or know anything about this
  • Food left in the yard and in bushes - this will rot, smell and attract rats- and we definitely don’t want that !!

Child Safety – it’s everyone’s responsibility!

Catholic schools have a moral, legal and mission-driven responsibility to create nurturing school environments where children and young people are respected, their voices are heard and they are safe and feel safe (CECV Commitment Statement to Child Safety).

At Trinity Primary School  we believe that student wellbeing is fundamental to successful learning. Children and young people who are happy, confident and able to establish meaningful relationships are better placed to achieve positive learning outcomes. The school environment must provide a safe and supportive environment that contributes to positive learning outcomes and the wellbeing of students, staff and the broader community.

All members of  our school community have the right of respect from others, the right to learn or teach, and a right to feel safe and secure in their school environment.

These rights are strengthened through the positive relationships we develop between students, staff and families and are strongly promoted by our

Positive behaviours for Learning, school wide expectations, and a strong school focus

on our values and through school policies and procedures.

As we are preparing for our school review next term, we will continue to address and embed the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Minesterial Order No. 1359 under which

all schools in Victoria are mandated to comply.

If at any time you would like to chat about anything wellbeing related at Trinity, or you have any questions or concerns about your child's wellbeing, please do not hesitate to see your child's teacher, or myself.
