SEMESTER ONE REPORTS

Today is Report Writing Day for our teachers. They are writing semester one reports and finalising marks.

Mathematics

(While the Department of Education has now mandated that Mathematics be shared as one overall mark from Semester One 2025 at Wheelers Hill Primary School we value and wanted to provide guidance for parents on student achievement in individual strands of mathematics). This will be presented in a tabular form).

Our Inquiry Curriculum covers a two year cycle which is reported on for Years 3 - 6 students. For Semester 1 2025 our Inquiry units are:

  • History and
  • Science

Specialist subjects reported on are:

  • Languages Other Than English (French or Mandarin)
  • STEM
  • EAL (English as an Additional Language) for those students who receive this support.
  • Library

The Learning Capabilities address the key transferable skills and understandings essential to all areas of learning. This semester we will report on :

  • Personal and Social Capabilities (Prep - 6)
  • Ethical Capabilities (Year 3 - 6)
  • Critical and Creative Thinking Capabilities (Year 3 - 6)
  • Intercultural  Capabilities (Year 3 - 6)

A huge thank you to our teachers for the work they do (both in and out of school time) in collecting and analysing the data to provide comprehensive reports for our parent community. Teachers (both class and specialists) moderate their report marks in their year level teams to ensure consistency and individually meet with a member of the principal class leadership team to discuss their assessment results, and look through the  data for each child.  These structures provide confidence and assurance that our teachers know their students very well.

If you have any queries or questions regards the reports or the reporting process please don’t hesitate to email me.
