What a big fortnight at TPS!
Mr Hogan
I cannot believe how quickly this term has flown through. It has been a very busy 11 weeks of amazing learning and excellent opportunities for our students.
As with almost all Victorian schools at the moment, teacher shortages is a real issue. Unfortunately, we are finding this challenging as well, and have needed to merge some classes recently. It is not ideal, and is a last option, but a nucessity. Hopefully, there is a solution in the near future to this, but I thank the students and teachers for their flexibility and our wider school community for their understanding.
Last Friday, we made a loud statement that we do not stand for bullying, by taking part in Do it for Dolly day.
Students were encouraged to wear blue and Brett and our Young Leaders made 300 blue icing cupcakes.
But the main part of the day was to send a message that we do not accept bullying, and we are going to be an upstander, not a bystander if we see something happening.
Thank you to everyone who supported the day, with our school goal of raising $500 to support anti-bullying programs well and truly surpassed.
Well done to Mrs Pridham, Brett and the young leaders for their excellent leadership to make the day a success.
Mid-year reports are being made available via Compass this evening. Please take the time to go through your child's report with them. You will notice a difference in the reporting, with Mathematics moving from 3 reporting strands down to a single mark for all mathematics.
The new Victorian Curriculum 2.0 is now being implemented, therefore you may find that comparing to previous reports may be a bit innacurate.
Thank you to our teachers who put in a lot of time and effort to produce excellent, accurate reports.
A busy final week to end Term 2 is planned. We have some showcases happening across the school, where students will display their learning for the term.
Wednesday is our Parent/Teacher Reporting day. Interview times are available via Compass. If you cannot make these times, please speak to your child's teacher about an alternative time, or interview via phone.
There are no classes on this day, therefore no students at school, although they are encouraged to attend their interview.
Our final day of Term 2 is Friday, 4th July with a 1:30pm dismissal. Our fabulous Parents and Friends are doing a special Dim Sim lunch on this day.
I had the pleasure of taking our football team to the inter school carnival on Tuesday in Moama. Our team performed extremely well, winning 3 games and recording 2 narrow losses. Their sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience was on display from start to finish as the team battled tricky weather conditions.
We look forward to our girls football carnival in Term 3.
Congratulations to our brave students who took part in the Lions Club Public Speaking competition on Thursday. Public Speaking is often something that can be daunting for some, but those who took part performed extremely well.
Congratulations to our 2 winners:
Jett T (Grade 3/4) and Ava B (Grade 5/6), who now progress to the next stage in Term 3.
Thanks to the Lions Club for running another very successful competition.
2026 Enrolments are now open. This year, enrolled students will receive an acceptance letter and will be part of an enrolment interview, so that we can gain a greater understanding of the students, families and allow us to accurately accomodate the needs of your child
If you, or someone you know is enrolling for 2026, please complete the enrolment paperwork and return to the school ASAP.
Our bi-annual school fete will be happening on Friday, November7th.
The Fete committee have got the wheels moving for the Fete but we still need helpers. If anyone would like to be involved, please speak to Cherish Todd or Karen in the office.
Our School Fete is our major fundraiser for the year, so any help to make this a fantastic evening will be greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend everyone!
