Middle School

3/4 NP & 3/4 JS

Almost at the end of Term 2! It has been a busy few weeks, filled with assessment and report writing. Fun still to come with camp right around the corner!

Reading: In our reading sessions we have been learning to make text to self, text to text and text to world connections. Through this learning, students have engaged in a range of literary texts and thought deeply to make meaningful connections.

Writing: In writing, students have been working on informative texts. Students had the choice of topic they wanted to research and write a text about. Many students found this task very engaging as they got to learn more about their favourite games, characters and animals.  We then moved on to narrative writing where we are unpacking techniques to make interesting stories. For example using personification to help build settings.

Maths: We have been working on reading clocks. We started by learning the parts of the analogue clock, Reading the clock to the hour and half hour, then eventually reading the clock to the nearest minute.

Humanities: Students have continued learning about natural disasters. They are currently working on a research project displaying their information through a poster, PowerPoint or diorama. Students are very excited to show off their hard work.
