Wellbeing

Term 2, Week 9
Over the next few weeks, students will continue practising using the stop, walk, talk skill when they encounter unkind remarks. The students will also look at what to do if technology is being used to be unkind. They learned that here, walking away may not be feasible, in which case, skipping to the talk step with a trusted adult would be an appropriate response.
Pear Goal
Our students have been working hard to earn 160 pears for a whole-school reward; this term the reward is a Pyjama day! This week, there are 154 pears in the orchard! The students are well on track to reach the goal and so will get to wear their pyjamas to school on the Wellbeing day.
Wellbeing Day and NAIDOC week
As mentioned above, the students get to wear their Pyjamas on our Wellbeing day, which takes place on Thursday the 3rd of July.
We will also celebrate NAIDOC on this day. This year’s theme chosen by the National NAIDOC Committee, is: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. This year will mark the 50th Year of NAIDOC. The theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
As well as our NAIDOC Celebrations, we will commemorate Reconciliation with a whole-school performance of Solid Rock by Shane Howard/Goanna. This will take place on Friday.
