Important Health Information for Our School Community
As we continue to prioritise the health and safety of our students, we want to remind you of the importance of keeping our school office informed about your child's health needs. If your child has been newly diagnosed with a health condition, requires medication during school hours, or if there are any changes to their current medication requirements, please notify us as soon as possible.
It is essential for us to have up-to-date information to ensure we can provide the best care for your child while they are at school. Please remember that we are unable to administer any medication without a doctor’s letter and completed paperwork provided by the school. This policy is in place to protect the health and wellbeing of all our students.
If your child needs to take medication at school, please follow these steps:
1. Obtain a Doctor’s Letter: This letter should specify the medication, dosage, and administration schedule.
2. Complete School Paperwork: This document outlines your child's health needs and the procedures we need to follow during school hours.
3. Submit Documentation and Medication: Please bring the doctor’s letter and completed healthcare plan to the school office for our records. Medication should be provided in either the original packaging from the pharmacy with the student's name and dosage; or in a blister pack from the pharmacy.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and will help us ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students. If you have any questions or need assistance with the process, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Attendance
We would like to remind you of our procedures regarding student absences.
Absent from School: If your child is unable to attend school due to illness, family commitments, appointments, or any other reasons, please notify us as soon as possible. You can do this by:
· Calling the school office to report the absence
· Sending an email to the school with your child's name, year group, and the reason for the absence
· Responding to the text message you will receive once the rolls are marked
Upon your child's return to school, please ensure they bring any medical certificates or notes to the student office.
Late Arrivals to School: If your child arrives late, we kindly ask that you provide a note from home explaining the reason for their lateness. Your child must sign in at the Student Office upon arrival, and the arrival time will be recorded against their attendance.
Early Departures from School: For early departures from school, a note from home detailing the reason and time of the early exit is required. Your child should present the note to the Student Office before Roll Call for a Deputy Principal to approve.
Students who leave early must be collected by an adult from the school and are not permitted to make their own way home or to an appointment.
We appreciate your cooperation in these matters to help us maintain a safe and organised school environment.
Elderslie High School appreciates your continued support.
World Vision
Elderslie High School is very proud to announce that we continue to sponsor two children from World Vision. This initiative reflects our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for your incredible support during our last fundraising campaign, where we raised an impressive $1500. Your contributions have made a significant difference, and we truly appreciate your generosity.
Thank you once again for your support.
