Principal's Report

Relieving Principal

I would like to inform the Elderslie community that I will be continuing in the role of Relieving Principal for the remainder of the year. It has been a great privilege to relieve as the Principal of this great school. I look forward to continuing in the role for the remainder of 2025.

Parent Teacher Night

Thank you to our parents and students who came along to Parent Teacher night. For the first time, we had a BBQ and Meet and Greet for Year 7 parents. There was a welcoming atmosphere where parents and students could enjoy musical performances from our students, interact with staff and students and our animals from Agriculture and view some student work samples. Thank you to the teachers who remained at work to provide feedback to parents about our students. The next Parent Teacher night is for all students from Years 7 to 12 on Tuesday 29th July.

Year 7 Camp

Our Year 7 students had a wonderful experience at Camp Yarramundi. The experiences and memories created during this camp are invaluable, and students were able to make new friends whilst fostering their independence and resilience. I would like to extend my thanks to Miss Kwasniak and the many teachers who gave up their personal time with families to provide this fabulous experience for our students.

School Musical

I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to Ms Dennis in her leadership of the CAPA faculty and students for their remarkable efforts in bringing the school musical "Bring It On" to life!

The dedication, creativity, and hard work displayed throughout the rehearsal process truly shone on stage. From the captivating choreography to the impressive vocal performances, every aspect of the production was a testament to the passion and commitment of our students and teachers alike.

A special thank you goes to our CAPA faculty, whose guidance and expertise were instrumental in shaping this production. Their commitment to nurturing our High Potential and Gifted students' talents and fostering a collaborative environment allowed everyone to thrive. The countless hours spent in rehearsals, set design, and costume creation have not gone unnoticed, and I am incredibly grateful for their commitment to staging an annual musical production.

To our students, your enthusiasm and energy were infectious! Each of you brought your unique talents to the stage, creating a vibrant and dynamic performance that captivated our audience. Your ability to work together as a team showcased the true spirit of collaboration and friendship.

We would also like to thank the families and friends who supported our students throughout this journey. Your encouragement and presence at the performances helped create an atmosphere of excitement and pride. I would also like to thank our dedicated P&C who sold drinks, snacks and toasties to audience members each night of the musical. Congratulations once again to our CAPA faculty and students for a job exceptionally well done! I look forward to many more outstanding productions in the future.

School Promotions

I am very proud to announce that we have launched two new school promotions this term. Firstly, we have a short video that highlights what Elderslie High School can offer students. Please make sure you view, like and share the video amongst your family members and friends. I would like to extend my thanks to Ms Dennis and Ms Lavorato who coordinated the students and filming of this fantastic video.

Secondly, we have launched our EHS Podcast series with three episodes. Mr Elphege has led this initiative and has interviewed me as the Relieving Principal in Episode 1, the School Captains in Episode 2 and two of our Sports Captains in Episode 3. If Podcasts are your thing, please tune in. A shout out should also be extended to Cameron Johansen in Year 12 who created the musical introduction. Both promotions will be launched via the school Facebook and Instagram pages.
