Supporting Students Academic & Social Growth

I'd like to thank Ms Ritson for inviting parents across the school from Prep to Year 6 to participate in 'Hands on Maths' activities this term.   These sessions engaged both the students and parents in fun mathematical games and provided parents with ideas on how to support their child at home.

Learning Portfolios have all gone home this week and I hope your child has shared their work with you.  Please ensure they are sent back to school on Monday.

Other Tips to support your child's learning at home:

  • Promote reading:

Read together daily and use interactive techniques, such as asking questions about the story, to enhance language and comprehension skills.

  • Incorporate learning into daily life:

Look for opportunities at the supermarket or park to practice counting, reading labels, and comparing items.

  • Develop social skills:

Arrange playdates to help children practice sharing, taking turns, and interacting positively with peers.

  • It's a partnership:

Remember that parents and teachers are a team working together for the child's success.

  • Celebrate small wins:

Acknowledge your child's efforts and achievements, even small ones, to build confidence and motivation.

  • Be patient:

Understand that each child learns at their own pace and a positive attitude towards school is a significant achievement in itself.
