Celebrating 50 Years of Salisbury Lutheran Kindergarten

One of our Connected Schools partners is celebrating a special milestone - 50 years of kindergarten! The celebration will take place on Sunday August 10th at 10am, and all members of our community are warmly invited to attend.

This is a wonderful opportunity to honour the kindergarten’s rich history and the strong connections that continue to shape our Connected Schools partnership today.

Thank you!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our team in this year’s Push-Up Challenge. With the generosity of our friends, families, and wider school community, we’ve raised an incredible $1,675 for Lifeline and Headspace. While today marks the final day of the challenge, it’s not too late to contribute—donation links will remain open for a little while yet.

If you’d still like to support this important cause, you can donate here.

Supporting Children Through ALWS

This week a message was shared in the ALWS newsletter "Hope Spot", of our efforts to raise funds with our 'Wear it Blue' day!

Students across our Primary School and Early Learning Centre took part in a special project to support the work of ALWS, marking 75 years of service. Each class aimed to raise $25 to “fill” a child-shaped silhouette, representing one child helped with school, food, and safety.

Linked to our school-wide focus on God’s Big Backyard, the project encouraged students to consider how they can help others near and far. Activities included a blue-themed Casual Day, chapel reflections, and classroom workshops led by ALWS staff member Josie.

Together, our school community raised an incredible $691 - enough to support an entire class of children in a country like Nepal, giving them access to teachers, lunches, and expanded learning opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously. This meaningful experience showed our students how small actions, when combined, can make a big difference.

Children’s Ministry Role at Golden Grove Lutheran Church

Golden Grove Lutheran Church is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator to lead Friday playgroup and Sunday School. This role is currently held by Lauren Neumann, who is stepping back as she takes on further study alongside her school commitments. If you or someone in our community may be interested, please contact their church for more information.

GSPV Student Named Finalist in BRIXPO Junior Competition

Congratulations to Year 3 student, Jacob, who has been named a finalist in the BRIXPO Junior LEGO Competition! Jacob’s impressive build caught the judges’ attention in a blind judging process and has earned him a double pass to attend BRIXPO, along with an invitation to display his creation on the finalists’ table across the event weekend.

Well done Jacob, what a fantastic achievement!

Event dates: 5-6 July 2025

Location: St Clair Recreation Centre, Woodville

Together We Can

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our ‘Together We Can’ Good Shepherd Community appeal. All the items were collected by Lutheran Care on Tuesday to make their way to where they are needed most. Thank you for your amazing generosity and the way you show love and care to others!

JC Life Camp

Do you like camping and sharing time with other people who like to have fun? Here’s an idea for the school holidays! Junior Christian Life (JC Life) is a four-day, three-night, camp for young people in years 4-6 to meet others and grow in their relationship with God. Significant sponsorship is offered to first time campers by the LLL. If this is not your first camp, talk to Georgie as there is a smaller sponsorship available. The camp will be at Camp Kedron, Barmera. Pick up a postcard from the front office!

For more information either chat with or contact Georgie here, or check out the camp section on the blueprint ministries website. Please note: Registrations close next Monday 23rd June!

KAPS - Save the Date!

We had a lot of fun on Sunday. We learned more about ALWS from Josie, through games and her Worship message. We made cards (and stretchers!) after hearing about the work Maranatha Health do over in Uganda. We rolled up our sleeves and sorted all the items our Good Shepherd community collected for Lutheran Care.

Our next get together is just after Week 1 (next term) Sunday 27th July. We are making pizzas and having a movie afternoon!

Please note the time: 4-7pm (slightly longer to allow time for pizza making, worship and movie!)

Pop it in your diaries now!
