Who is our neighbour?

Over the last few weeks we have been focusing on ‘Serving others’... We have thought about ways we can show God’s love and care in our family, with our friends, with people in our wider city and even with people overseas... 

It can be easy to serve people that we like and get along with... (They often show love and care back to us in gratitude.) It can also be easy enough to extend goodwill to people we don’t know... like people in desperate situations overseas... But what about people that we don’t naturally get along with... People who have different values than us... ‘Tricky’ people? 

Jesus shared his perspective on this through his parable of ‘The Good Samaritan’. (Luke 10:25-37) Our Worship Actors will present an adaption of this story tomorrow as they considered the question, ‘Who is our neighbour’?

Anybody who’s in need!

Who is our neighbour?

Let us bring you up to speed!

They come in all shapes and sizes

Every colour it would seem

Some are short some are tall

Might even barrack for the other team

Just by putting on a bandaid

Or being a friend

By looking out for others

You’re their answer! Do you comprehend?

It’s just not who you’re sitting next to

Or the person near your home

Opportunities are endless

Found wherever you may roam!

It doesn’t have to cost much

Just even a smile

Showing love to one another

Is following in Jesus’ style

Who is our neighbour?

Anybody who’s in need!

Who is our neighbour?

Will you follow up this lead?

Be on the lookout... You never know who you might have the opportunity to serve today!

Installation of Pastor Michael Dutschke - This Sunday

We invite the community of Good Shepherd Lutheran School to attend the installation service of Pastor Michael into the Good Shepherd Community.
