Assistant Principal's Report

What a great semester of learning we have had for 2025!
Semester one has been full of great classroom-based and extracurricular activities across all year levels. Every student’s learning has been summarised in their semester reports; these can be viewed digitally using Compass, but have also been sent home with each student in a hard copy format. It is a great idea to sit down with your child and go through the report.
Next term we have our Careers Expo and subject selection days for students heading into new programs for 2026. The Careers Expo is really important for every student to attend from years 8, 9 and 10, as there will be information sessions about academic programs and subjects for years 9, 10 and 11 in 2026. Local employers, community groups, universities and TAFE providers will also be there as exhibitors. It is always a great night and we encourage as many families as possible to come.
In week 3 we have our subject selection days for students currently in year 9 (Tuesday 5th August) and year 10 (Friday 8th August). These meetings will take place in the MSC library. We encourage parents to book a time that suits them using Compass. It is an opportunity to discuss your child’s pathway with our careers team and plan for the future together. We aim to ensure every student is on track to meet their individual learning and/or employment goals. From there, we will undertake workforce planning, blocking the timetable and planning each student’s program for 2026.
Thank-you to all families for your ongoing support with your child’s learning. We look forward to another great term when we return from the holidays. Term 3 is only 9 weeks long, so it will fly!
See you then,
Marie Clark
