SEASONS

BY JULIETTE KRENS (Systems & Compliance Manager /PA to the Principal)

Seasons come and seasons go. Right now, we’re experiencing cooler weather, and before you know it, spring and summer will arrive, and the warmth will return.

Life is much the same moving in seasons. Some test us to our core, while others bring joy and moments of great laughter. Our spiritual lives also follow a similar rhythm. There are times when walking in faith feels natural, while at other times it feels hard to find God amid difficulty and despair.

When we find ourselves in tough seasons, Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God gives us the strength to hang in there. He doesn't leave us to face the season alone. He's present, even when it doesn't quite feel like it. “God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

What do you see in the season you’re in?

Do you only notice the dark skies and feel the bitter cold, or do you marvel at the tapestry of colour that autumn leaves create as they fall from the trees to the ground below? Do you hide indoors in summer, overwhelmed by the heat, or do you take a moment to notice the beauty of the deep blue sky while enjoying the warmth of a summer breeze?

How we see our seasons often depends on the lens we're using. Are we looking through a lens with a limited view, or are we looking through the lens of God's love for us? A love that gave us all of creation to enjoy, even when things are a bit challenging. A love revealed through his son, Jesus.

God continues to offer us a profound hope that overcomes any season. He brings light into the darkest places and offers a pathway through difficulty. Jesus Himself said:

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

May you find light in the darkest of places, and may you hold onto the hope that Jesus offers, no matter what season you're walking through.
