Kitchen Garden

Well, we have had a very busy fortnight! In the kitchen we are practicing finger food/canapes ready for a special event to thank Bendigo Bank for a very generous donation to the school, more details to follow.
Vege sausage rolls were a big hit who would have known that not putting any meat in a sausage roll could be such a win with the kids.
Thank you to everyone that brought some lemons in. We have made our own lemon curd to have on scones, and it is delicious. The rest of the lemons and limes will be happily squeezed (a favourite job in the kitchen) and frozen for lemonade later in the year.
We have a donation of a bench seat; the base is filled with decorative rocks and the kids have been busy filling it up ready for a comfy seat in the garden.
Our main focus however is learning all about compost. Alongside the green team, we endeavour to reduce our school waste by filling our new compost bays with all our food scraps and turn it into fantastic soil and food for our gardens. Adrian Holland has made us the compost bays, they look fantastic, thanks Adrian.
