Dear Families,

We warmly welcome all families to the 2026 school year at Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School. As we begin this new year together, we give thanks to God for the gift of our community and the opportunity to walk alongside your children in their learning and faith journeys. Inspired by the words of Mother Teresa

Not all of us can do great things.

But we can do small things with great love”

we are reminded  each day offers opportunities to live our faith through kindness, service and compassion. Guided by our Catholic faith and the example of our patron saint, we remain committed to nurturing each child academically, spiritually and socially. We look forward to working in partnership with you through out 2026 as we grow in faith, hope and love together.

Yesterday and today our school closure days, have given our staff dedicated time for professional learning and planning to ensure a strong start to the 2026 school year. Over these days our staff engaged in a range of sessions focused on our priorities for 2026 as well as other compliance tasks such as Child safety standards & Mandatory reporting.   These days are an important opportunity for our staff to collaborate, align our practices, and prepare a purposeful and engaging learning environment for all students in 2026.

2026 Classroom Locations

As you may be aware from our transition days last year, there have been some locations changes this year.  The junior school (Foundation, Grade 1& 2) will now be located on the right side of the main building, while the middle school (Grade 3&4) will be on the left. All Specialist classes will now be housed in the Bridging Centre. These adjustments have been made to best support student learning, organisation, and the effective use of our current classrooms. This move also allows us to progress with the Master Plan works, which we hope will begin later this year.

To assist families and students with this transition, a map and table are provided below outlining the new classroom locations for each class. We encourage families to take a moment to review this information together with their child to help them feel confident and prepared for the start of the school year.

Staffing Additions

I am very excited to announce that over the holidays we have appointed Mrs Emma Randall and Mrs Michelle Perri as Learning Support Officers (LSOs) at Mother Teresa. Mrs Randall and Mrs Perri bring valuable experience and a strong commitment to supporting student with additional needs. We look forward to the positive contribution they will make as part of our school community.

Finally, I look forward to working in partnership with our families throughout the year ahead. Grounded in our shared faith, we value the strong connection between home and school as we support each child’s learning, wellbeing, and spiritual development. Through open communication and a shared commitment to our Gospel values, we can work together to help every child grow and flourish within our Mother Teresa community.

Regards,

Jess
