Welcome to the 2026 School Year! 

There is a unique energy that fills the air during the first week of school, and this year is no exception. We are thrilled to see how our students have embraced the changes and challenges that come with starting anew. It has been wonderful to observe everyone diving into their learning with such positivity and enthusiasm while reconnecting with their peers. 

Schedule Updates & School Routine 

The changes to the school schedule have been a great success overall. Thank you to our students and families for transitioning so smoothly. The school gates only open for students from 8:25am. Most students are arriving with plenty of time to prepare for the day and begin learning at 8:45 am sharp. The 3:15 pm pickup has also gone exceedingly well. 

A friendly reminder: please do not park and leave your vehicle in the "Pickup and Drop-off" zone. Doing so causes unnecessary traffic congestion and creates avoidable safety concerns for our children. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our roads moving and our students safe. 

Campus Improvements 

Our team has been busy over the summer break completing several projects to enhance our school grounds. We are thrilled to announce: 

• The Return of Our Farm Friends: We have completed new enclosures for our school vegetable garden and chickens. We are very excited to confirm that the chickens will be returning to HPS later this year! 
• New Junior Playground: Thanks to your incredible community fundraising efforts, a brand-new Junior playground has been installed. It sits right next to the Middle and Senior playground we opened last year. 
• Infrastructure & Maintenance: We have completed major plumbing works to reposition the BER reflux valve, significantly reducing the risk of the flooding we unfortunately experienced in January 2025. 
• Shade Sails: The playground sails and BER entrance shade have been removed for professional cleaning and repair. We expect these to be reinstalled shortly. 

Welcoming our Newest Students 

This Monday, we are especially excited to welcome our Foundation students as they begin their school journey with us. We can’t wait to watch them grow and thrive throughout the year.

Lastly, our school newsletter is an essential tool for staying connected! It is the best way to keep up to date with school events, student and staff achievements, and all the exciting happenings around our campus. We encourage you to read it every fortnight to stay involved and engaged with our wonderful school community.
