Level 5 & 6 

We're Back 🌟 

What a great start to the year!  The first week was a great success with lots of catching up, setting up and stepping up. Thanks to parents and students for enabling such a smooth start to 2026.

📘 Curriculum and Learning Focus

As shared last week, the first two weeks of term will focus on settling students into classroom routines, school expectations, and shared learning spaces. Students will revisit our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support expectations and practise behaviours that support a calm, safe, and respectful learning environment. Students will also participate in social and team-building activities designed to help them connect with classmates and build positive relationships. Establishing these routines early supports a smooth and successful year ahead.

💻 iPads

All 5/6 classes have completed their in-class iPad agreements. A document has been sent home with discussion questions and a second agreement to sign. Please work through this with your child and return it when convenient. Once completed, students are welcome to begin bringing their fully charged iPads to school again.

Important!!

On Wednesday 4th February, Issy (our technician) will need ALL Grade 5 iPads at school to complete some important updates for NAPLAN.

🌱 CBL Big Idea: Community

Our CBL focus for Term One is Community. Feeling a sense of belonging is essential for students to feel safe, settled, and ready to learn. Throughout the term, students will explore this concept through the following guiding questions:

• What makes a community feel safe, supported, and connected?
• What qualities make someone a positive community member?
• How can I show leadership in both small and big ways?

These ideas link to our essential question: How can I ensure our community thrives?

Students will work towards the challenge of strengthening positive connections within the Wonga Park Primary School community.
