Welcome to 2026

Welcome to a new school year! It was so exciting to welcome our students back to school yesterday, especially our brand new Foundation students for their first ever day of school. We are looking forward to watching all of our students learn, laugh and flourish their way through 2026.

As per the Compass messages and emails this week, the annual Meet the Teacher meetings are available to be booked, for next Wednesday, 4th of February. These meetings are a very important opportunity for parents and carers to inform the class teacher all about your child and to begin the all important home-school relationship.

Supervision Before and After School

Student safety at Roberts McCubbin Primary School is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. In line with Department of Education Policy, part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.

Before school: School grounds are supervised from 8:45am, with students asked to line up in their allocated areas from 8:50am, ready for learning to begin at 9am. 

After school: School grounds are supervised until 3:45pm. Students who have not been collected by this time will be taken to the office to await pickup. 

Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity). 

Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity (i.e. sports practice). 

A reminder that TeamKids is available daily both before and after school if you need to drop your children off before 8:45am or are unable to collect them before 3:45pm. Families are encouraged to contact Director of Service Hannah Doyle on 0499 403 079 or RobertsMcCubbinPS@teamkids.com.au for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community through TeamKids, or contact the office if you would like any further information about our student supervision arrangements.

For a copy of our school’s Yard Duty and Supervision Policy, please contact the school office, Principal Peter Watson, or Assistant Principal Stephen Roche. This policy includes Example School’s student supervision arrangements across the school day, including before and after school.

Annual privacy reminder for our school community

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
