Absence Notifications Reminder
Under New South Wales (NSW) legislation, parents and carers have a legal duty to ensure children of compulsory school age (6 to 17 years old) attend school daily. Absences for any part of the day must be explained to the school within seven calendar days of the first day of the absence.

We kindly ask families to ensure that any student absences are explained promptly via the Compass portal. So far this year, there have been over 40 absences that have not yet been explained.
As a school, we are legally required to have all absences accounted for and explained by a parent or carer. When an absence is not entered online, our administration team will contact families to follow up so that the record can be finalised.
We understand that life gets busy, and we truly appreciate your support in helping us keep accurate attendance records. Entering absences directly through Compass saves time for our admin staff and ensures our records remain up to date.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Since 1995, the Council of Catholic School Parents NSW (CCSP) has been the state peak body officially recognised by the Bishops of NSW to provide leadership, advocacy and support for parents and carers of children and young people in all NSW Catholic schools and represent their interests at state and national level.
On their website they provide up-to-date information about Catholic education, CCSP activities and events and resources for families and schools in NSW. Through our website and social media we reach out to our members, school communities and stakeholders across the state.
