Lunchtime & After School Activities

Extra curricular programs at EHPS are facilitated by external organisations. Registration and any queries are with the facilitating organisations.

Sports-X Programs - Soccer & Basketball

Soccer-X on Monday

Sports-X facilitates a Soccer program for Prep to Year 6 students after school on Monday on the School Oval (or the gymnasium in the Stadium if the weather does not permit being outdoors). The program runs from 3.40pm to 4.40pm.  

The eight session program runs from Monday 2 February (week two) to Monday 30 March (week 10/last week Term 1). The program runs on the School Oval, or the gymnasium in the Stadium if the weather does not permit being outdoors. Please note there is no session on the Labour Day public holiday on Monday 9 March. 

Register online for the Soccer X after school program on the Sports X website before the first session.

Please email your child's teacher to advise attendance at the after school soccer after registration is confirmed to ensure your child is directed to the school oval on Monday afternoons.

 

Basketball-X on Friday 

Sports-X facilitates a Basketball program for Prep to Year 6 students after school on Friday from 3.40pm to 4.40pm in the Stadium gymnasium (or on the outdoor basketball courts if weather permits). 

The eight session program runs from Friday 6 February (week two) to Friday 27 March (week 9). The program runs on the basketball courts, or the gymnasium in the Stadium if the weather does not permit being outdoors.  

Register online for the Basketball X after school program on the Sports X website. 

Please email your child's teacher to advise attendance at the after school basketball after registration is confirmed to ensure your child is directed to the basketball courts on Friday afternoons.

Parents can get $15 off using code "take15" when signing up for both programs - Soccer on Monday and Basketball on Friday. 

 

EHPS expects parents/carers to clearly communicate/remind their child before the school day commences about attendance at these after school programs. 

 

If your child will be attending After School Care after the soccer and/or basketball programs, you must advise Soccer-X and Paul Davis, our OSHC Coordinator.

Chess Club

Chess Club for Years 1 to 6 (not Prep) students is facilitated by Chess Ideas on Wednesday from 3.40pm to 4.40pm. 

Chess Ideas tutors assess students and place them in the appropriate group for their skill level - Beginner (Level 1), Beginner can play (Level 2), Intermediate (Level 3), Intermediate/Lower Advanced (Level 4), or Advanced (Level 5).

The eight session Term 1 program runs from Wednesday 4 February (week 2) to Wednesday 25 March (week 9); no session on 11 February due to Meet & Greet Discussions. The Term 1 program costs $164 (or $20.50 per session). 

Registration is first in, first served; please note there is no guarantee of placement if registered in the previous term. 

Please email your child's teacher after registration is confirmed to advise participation in Chess Club so they are aware where your child needs to be at school dismissal on Wednesday. EHPS expects parents to clearly communicate/remind their child before the school day commences about attendance at Chess Club. 

If your child needs to attend After School Care after Chess Club, you must advise Chess Ideas and notify Paul Davis at the OSHC program.

Coding Club

Code Camp facilitates two eight session lunchtime Coding Clubs each term for Years 2 to 6 students. The sessions are facilitated by Code Camp tutors and run on Tuesday and Thursday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm (lunchtime) in the School Hall.

Code Camp allows kids to hone their coding skills and keep practising through weekly sessions over the term! Students will produce multiple games and apps using our exciting online platform Code Camp World! We have made Code Camp World as accessible as possible so students can truly focus on the fun aspects of coding and carry on their journey at home. Each week students will choose the features they want to build, and advance their problem-solving skills to build these features using code. They will take ownership over their projects and collaborate with their peers to make awesome apps!

Netball

Essex Heights Netball Club is for girls and boys in Years 3 to 6 who would like to play netball on Saturday mornings at Ashwood Netball Courts.  

Currently recruiting Years 5 and 6 (Under 11) netball players for the upcoming Autumn season.

We welcome all skill levels! Our club prides itself on being fun, friendly and supportive, with a strong focus on skill development and teamwork.

Training is held after school at the EHPS netball courts every Thursday, making it easy for families. 

Under 11 eligibility:  Players must be under 11 years old at the end of 2026 (date of birth after 1 January 2015).

Autumn season fee:  $233
