Week 2 in Review

Week 2 marked our first full week together for 2026, and there has been a great sense of rhythm beginning to form across Years 7–10. Classrooms are settling, routines are strengthening, and students are stepping into the year with increasing confidence.

One of the highlights has been the launch of our Worship Band. It has been encouraging to see students volunteering their gifts and leading with courage so early in the term. There is something special about students setting the tone for our gatherings through music.

Our new Psychology class headed out to Drift for their first excursion, exploring wellbeing and behaviour in a real-world setting. It was a valuable opportunity to connect theory with lived experience and to see students engaging thoughtfully with the world around them.

Meanwhile, Outdoor Education began the week at the beach on Monday, focusing on surfing skills and water safety. Learning in authentic environments builds both competence and confidence, and it was wonderful to see students encouraging one another in the surf.

This morning we participated in a significant moment in our Year 9 Beyond journey — the Calling and Departure for the Year 9 program. This is more than a send-off; it is a moment where we intentionally partner with parents and acknowledge the growth, responsibility, and independence our students are stepping into. It signifies trust, preparation, and the shared commitment between school and home as students prepare for this important experience.
