Little Hearts Playgroup

We had our first Little Hearts Playgroup today. Although it was a quiet first playgroup, we had a lovely time. It was great to see Carol back singing our favourite tunes like the Wheels on the Bus and the Hokey Pokey. A big thanks to the year 5 students who stepped up to help in  the year 6 students absence.  Finn, Xavier, Ted, Olivia M, Maya D, Ava and Sadie were so welcoming and caring . 

We hope to welcome our future prep students for 2027 to our next playgroup in March. The transition many of our preps have had this year was very smooth as the students had been coming to playgroup all of last year, they were familiar with our environment and playground so they eased in so easily and it is a great opportunity to develop relationships with families early on. 

For those who are not familiar with playgroup it is held in our Mackillop Hall at 10am on a Friday once  a month following our Friday morning assembly. We enjoy hands on activities such as blocks, playing shops, drawing, puzzles etc. Parents and caregivers can relax and have a cuppa while they meet other parents and make new connections.  Then we enjoy singing, percussion instruments and story-time.  If the weather is fine we can play in our playground before the rest of the school comes out for lunch at 11am.
