From the Senior Leadership

As we reach the midpoint of this bustling school year, it's the perfect time to reflect on all the incredible achievements and set new goals for the semester ahead. From the start of the school year, our school community has been buzzing with activities, events, and accomplishments that make us proud.

Our students have truly stepped up, showcasing their dedication and hard work. In particular, our Year 12 students have excelled, benefiting greatly from the structured study time on Wednesdays and Thursdays to further assist supporting them as their trails approach in the early stages of T3. The positive support of our peer tutors who are past high achieving students from previous years have been great support for our Yr 12 students and assisted them in making remarkable progress and setting a strong example for our peers.

The end of the semester gives us a moment to celebrate these successes and think about the future. Let's use this opportunity to recharge, set new targets, and continue striving for excellence.

Today at the whole school assembly we celebrated with Aurelia Parsley’s as she received her Rotary Club of Nepean Community Service Award. This award is given to recognise the amazing contribution of certain nominated secondary school students who have been involved in developing significant support programmes in their schools or local communities.

Reports and Parent teacher interviews:

As we move to the conclusion of Semester One, Year 7-10 students will receive their first semester reports on Friday 28th June, these will be released via our Compass portal. Please take the time to sit together with your daughter to view her report. Use this time to identify the positives and the areas of growth along with talking about what their goal might be for Semester 2.

These important conversations will then form the basis of discussions for parent-teacher interviews which will take place via zoom on Thursday 4th July from 9am - 6:00pm. Our parent-teacher interviews were open for bookings on Monday evening 24th June. If you are yet to make your bookings please access your Compass app and click on conferences to view your booking options. Parent teacher interviews provide an opportunity to build the partnership between home and the College by allowing parents to engage in robust conversations around their child's learning from all aspects student, teacher and parent. Due to this, we encourage all of our parent community to book in with all your daughter's teachers. Further to this, should your daughter have a teacher who works part-time and Thursday is their non-work day, they will be contacting their parents via email to inform them of the fact and will arrange for an alternate time and date to have the parent teacher interview.

In the coming term, we will be sending out a survey to parents to investigate moving parent-teacher interviews with an onsite option. So please keep an eye out early next term for the survey to have your say.

Year 10 Subject Selections:

It was lovely to have the opportunity to see all of our Year 10 parents on site for our Year 10 Learning Pathways to Success Information Night. Following this we held our Year 10 Subject Selection interviews on site that provided both parent and student to engage in robust discussion in relation to study pathways and course choices for Yr 11 & Yr 12, along with additional support from our leaders in VET and Partnerships and Pathways. There was a great energy and enthusiasm on the day allowing our partnership to build in unison in relation to decision making in what will work best and be best suited for our students here at Caroline Chisholm as they continue their journey into Year 11 amd Year 12.

Just as a reminder the Year 10 students were sent their link on Thursday 27th June in the afternoon to enter the subjects they are selecting for 2025/2026. All Year 10 students are required to have their entries in by Wednesday 24th July, Week 1 of Term 3. In the interim should students or parents still have any outstanding queries or questions in relation to this please do not hesitate to contact the College.

Rotary Model United Nations

Last weekend, we had two Year 11 CCC teams participate in the Rotary Model United Nations (MUNA) in which they had a chance to represent their allocated countries both in costume and through debates on global humanitarian issues with students from dozens of other local schools. Congratulations to Amy Jarukrut, Sophie McLaughlin & Annelise Su'a as representatives for Poland and Prisha Trapasiya, Turya Nikumbh and Raina Mary Rogy as representatives for Switzerland. Thank you also to Penrith Rotary for sponsoring both of our teams once again this year - their ongoing support of local youth is highly appreciated!
