Year Three - Spotlight on Learning

Dear Families,

Week 6 has been a short but busy one, full of new learning. The students have been reviewing features of narratives and using these ideas in creating their own for our Writing focus in English. In Maths, we have been learning about 3D shapes, what they are called and their features, identifying these in real life as well as reviewing formal 3D shapes and nets. And of course on Friday we had the amazing Bookweek Parade, showing how ‘Reading is Magic’. Photos to come next week.

Mathematics: Identifying, labelling 3D shapes and creating shapes from 3D nets.

English: Reading of Flood by Jackie French, a fictional narrative about the floods in Queensland, and writing our own narratives.

Religious Education: We have been looking at the 7 Sacraments - this week the focus has been on the Sacraments of Service, such as Marriage and Holy Orders.

Integrated Studies This week we have been participating in Drama and showing our emotions through acting and performance.

Auslan: In Auslan we have been learning about signs that relate to thinking such as remember, know and wonder which are signed around your head. Emotions are signed around your head and heart.
