Year Six - Spotlight on Learning

Dear Families,

The Year Six students had an amazing time at CYC camp this week!  They proudly demonstrated our school values of Respect and Safety while exploring the city. During the Lane art tour, MCG tour, Aquarium tour and Big Issue workshop, they truly embodied the value of Learning by staying curious, asking thoughtful questions, and working together. We are proud of how they looked out for one another.

Book Week Parade:

Book Week brought out the creativity in our students as they dressed up as their favorite book characters for the parade. The enthusiasm was infectious, and it was fantastic to see so many imaginative costumes. This week, we also focused on reading 'Our Country: Where History Happened,' exploring the rich history and stories of our nation.

Mathematics:

In mathematics, we revisited the concept of percentages. Students engaged in various activities to strengthen their understanding of how percentages are used in everyday life.

English:

Our reading sessions this week were centered around 'Our Country: Where History Happened.' Students dived into the text, analyzing historical events and figures that shaped our country. This focus not only enhanced their comprehension skills but also deepened their appreciation for Australian history.

SEL/RRRR

In our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program, we discussed Positive Gender Relations. The students engaged in meaningful conversations about respect, equality, and the importance of fostering positive relationships with peers of all genders.
