Year Five - Spotlight on Learning
Dear Families,
The children have had a fantastic week and thoroughly enjoyed many of our Book Week activities. The parade was a highlight and we were amazed at the variety of costumes. Thank you to those parents who were able to attend our parade.
Next weeks learning;
Mathematics: Students will look at data in various forms related to the Paralympics. What information comes from the data? How do you read the information presented in the data?
English: Students will begin to read the class novel of Kensuke's Kingdom. This book follows Michael and his parents on a trip of a lifetime around the world. They give up their jobs, pack their belongings onto the 'Peggy Sue' and off they set. Many adventures await Michael and his family on this journey. Students will begin to look at persuasive writing and start to focus on the structure of a persuasive text.
Religious Education: After having guest speakers regarding the sacrament of confirmation, we will continue to learn how to live out the gospel message with speakers from our own Year 5 teaching staff.
SEL:Students describe the kinds of gender-based violence boys and girls may witness, experience or perpetrate in and around the school.
