PRAYER

Last Sunday’s Psalm is taken from Psalm 107 which is a song of praise.  It encourages us to give God thanks for his steadfast love and wonderful works. Though we get ourselves into an array of difficult circumstances, some caused by our sin and others brought on by the trials of life, this Psalm reminds us that God is faithful and will always come to our help.  Take time as a family to read and reflect on the words sung in this Psalm, which can be seen below:

RESPONSORIAL PSALM 107:23-24, 25-26, 28-29, 30-31

Response Give thanks to the Lord, his love is everlasting.

They who sailed the sea in ships,
    trading on the deep waters,
These saw the works of the LORD
    and his wonders in the abyss. R

His command raised up a storm wind
    which tossed its waves on high.
They mounted up to heaven; they sank to the depths;
 their hearts melted away in their plight. R

They cried to the LORD in their distress;
    from their straits he rescued them,
He hushed the storm to a gentle breeze,
    and the billows of the sea were stilled. R

They rejoiced that they were calmed,
    and he brought them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his kindness
    and his wondrous deeds to the children of men. R

SACRAMENTAL JOURNAL REMINDER

As we know, attending Mass regularly is the best way to prepare your child to receive a sacrament.  It is also a crucial part of helping your child to develop a personal relationship with God, that they can carry with them throughout their life.

Families with a child celebrating a sacrament this year, are reminded to ensure that their child is getting their Sacramental Journal signed each time they attend Mass on a Sunday.  Should your child lose their journal, please contact the school office for a replacement.
