EarlyAct News

Last Tuesday, Park Ridge was turned into a sea of blue with many teachers and students donning their Big Freeze beanies to raise awareness about Motor Neurone Disease.  Thanks to all the families who supported us in our first ever Park Ridge Big Freeze day.

As the term comes to a close, we’d like to acknowledge the amazing work our EarlyAct Club has done so far this year.  Some of their achievements include:

  • Raising over $1000 for the Cancer Council from our weekly Zooper Dooper sales during Term 1
  • Creating an origami heart display of messages of love and support for those impacted by cancer
  • Donating 120 toothbrush holders to the “End Trachoma” project
  • Raising $347 selling Easter eggs for the Royal Childrens Hospital Appeal
  • Registering Park Ridge for the new bottle and can recycling program so people can select our school to make donations to.
  • Raising $750 from our Open Night Bake Sale to donate to the Make a Wish Foundation and Back Packs 4 Vic Kids

Next term the EarlyAct Club members hope to run Story-time sessions for the younger students every Thursday lunchtime in Miss McClure’s 4-20 classroom.  Then in Term 4, they will once again sell Zooper Doopers to raise money for ShareSpace.

Thank-you for your support and we hope you all have a safe and fabulous holiday.

Early Act Dinner

On Tuesday, 4 June, the Early act leaders, Mrs McClure, Mr Blythman and a special guest David Blythman from Traralgon Rotary Branch were invited to Tosaria Restaurant for a special dinner hosted by the rotary community.

It was a wonderful opportunity for us to talk with different members of the rotary group and learn about the remarkable differences they have made for the community.

We also got to showcase our presentation highlighting our superb Bake Sale as we raised $750 our past achievements and outlining our ambitions for the school.

The evening concluded with a delightful dinner where we gathered to enjoy the last minutes of the night.
