Lifelink Day 2024
Wednesday 5 June was the official launch of Lifelink Day 2024. Four of our Junior School prefects (Patrick, Finlay, Will and Jacob) travelled to Newman College to be part of this launch along with representatives from 44 other Catholic schools in the Perth diocese. They were presented with a plaque recognising this year as the 25th anniversary of Lifelink Day in schools.
All schools were encouraged to complete the Lifelink project which involved students researching various charities and organisations that Lifelink supports and creating a 'paper person' based on one of those charities. They included information about the charity as well as a prayer to God asking for help for those in need which the charity supports.
The Junior School prefects will now work together to plan a fundraising event for our TC Junior School Lifelink Day later in the year. Stay tuned.
Push-Up Challenge
The boys in the Junior School are impressing everyone with their commitment to the Push-Up Challenge, an important event in Australia that focuses on both mental health and physical fitness. This challenge raises awareness about mental health while encouraging participants to stay active. Among our students and staff, several have already achieved remarkable milestones, with three boys surpassing 100 push-ups each and Mr. Paljetak leading with an impressive 285 push-ups.
We're excited to announce that next Tuesday, all students will take part in the Push-Up Challenge. For this special occasion, students can wear their PE uniform for the day and are asked to donate a gold coin. Let's all come together to support mental health awareness and fitness! Extra-Curricular Club Focus - Running Club
As per the Extra-curricular Timetable, we warmly welcome all Junior School boys to join the Running Club. Running Club sessions will take place every Friday morning from 7:30 am to 8:15 am.
For those eager to keep track of their laps, students can conveniently scan their personalised barcode at an iPad, which will accurately tally their progress during each session. Barcodes are securely kept at school and can be collected from the Running Club teacher before the first lap.
Congratulations to William McArdle and Daniel Adams for their achievement in receiving their 20km certificates, and to Harley Blatchley for his fantastic accomplishment in attaining his 30km certificate. Well done, boys!
