Today is a great day to be you!

Resilience and eSmart Superhero Celebration Day

On the final day of term 2 we will celebrate our annual Superhero Day! This day is all about recognising the importance of resilience - and being superheroes in-person and online with our eSmart behaviours.

We would love to see all students (and staff!) dress up in their favourite 'hero'. This could be an actual superhero, such as Spiderman, Superman, Wonder Woman or many others - or an everyday hero in their eyes, such as a firefighter, doctor, nurse... or even a teacher!

The day will begin with a whole school assembly in the gym - parents and visitors are very welcome to attend. The assembly will include items such as:

  • Choirs
  • Band
  • Rock Band
  • Kelly Sports Dance Club
  • An acknowledgement of First Responders
  • Slam Poetry
  • GEM Awards
  • ... and a chance for students to show off their brilliant costumes!

Students will then participate in Buddy Grade activities across the day, focusing on resilience and eSmart learning tasks.

We are very excited for what should be a great day of celebrations!

Reminder: Student dismissal is at 2:30pm on the final day of term.

The Resilience Project - Digital Wellbeing

This is an early 'save the date' item: next term, we will be welcoming a member of The Resilience Project team out to the school to run an in-person event for our school community.

The focus will be Digital Wellbeing and this event will run on Tuesday 20th August at 6:30pm.

In this day and age, online safety is a huge concern for all families. Children are accessing a range of apps, websites and chat programs at younger and younger ages, whilst the risks out there in the online world become far more sophisticated.

We are not immune to the dangers of the online world at Rangeview. Like many other schools, we have supported a number of students through difficulties navigating online safety and behaviour choices.

We strongly encourage all parents from all year levels - but particularly those with children in Year 3-6 - to 'save the date'. Pencil in Tuesday 20th August on the calendar and speak to your friends and connections within the school community - we are keen to fill the gym and have a full audience for this seminar.

More information to come early in term 3!

Finally, please find an activity idea from TRP below that might be fun to complete with your children over the coming school holidays. Next term's whole school focus will be on empathy, so we encourage our students to begin thinking about this over the holidays.

I hope you all have a safe and restful break.
