Leadership Report
Welcome to Week 9!
As we near the end of the term, we continue to see teachers and students engaged in all facets of the curriculum, learning opportunities and community events.
From all reports, the Year5/6 camp has been a great success, and we look forward to their return this afternoon. I’m sure they will all have an exciting tale or two to share with us in the coming days!
Attendance update
It is wonderful to see an improvement in our attendance data this term. We still have room for growth; however, it is pleasing to see an upward turn in the trajectory.
Term 1 | 88.2% | |||||||||||
Term 2 (to date) | 91.91% |
Next term, we will continue to strive for improvement. Staff will collaborate with students, parents, and families to ensure connection and engagement are at the forefront of our support. Attendance is a team effort. We are here to listen and provide assistance; please don’t hesitate to connect with us so we can plan a way forward together.
Movie Night
It was wonderful to see so many students, across all year levels, attend movie night last Friday. The children enjoyed the opportunity to relax, snack on popcorn, and watch a movie with classmates, truly a sea of beanbags, pillows, Pjs, Ugg boots and blankets! The community’s support of this school fundraiser was outstanding, and we are pleased to share with you that $602.50 was raised through your patronage of the event. We wish to thank members of the Fundraising Committee for organising the event and helping on the night and the school staff that assisted in supporting its success.
Ukuleles
Our new ukuleles have arrived, and our students have been very excited to get their hands on them and break them in. Thank you, Rick, for arranging the purchase and getting them ready for the beginning of term. We also thank the fundraising team to agreeing to contribute $1000 towards the purchase.
Just a reminder that we have some second-hand ukuleles still available at the front office for $20.00 (3 orange, 2 yellow and 1 red).
Lost Property
Could we please ask that you label all school clothing as we have found ourselves in a position of holding a vast amount of lost property. We will be putting the items out in a container on assembly weeks to give you the opportunity to go through. All items remaining on the last day of term will be washed over the holidays and added to our secondhand stock for purchasing.
End of term, holidays and return to school
A reminder that next Friday is Casual Day. This a gold coin donation event and all proceeds are going to the Make a Wish Foundation. Thank you in advance for your support.
As this is our last newsletter before the holidays, I'll take this opportunity to wish all families a safe and relaxing break. Term 3 begins on Monday 22nd, July 2024.
Wishing our community a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing everyone rested and recharged for the busy term ahead!
Kind regards,
Georgina Sprigg
