SMPPS 2024 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Dear Parents and Carers,

SMPPS Athletics Carnival will be a whole school event in 2024!  Make sure you mark the date in your diary as we have our prep to year 6’s competing for their house!  We will need lots of parent/carer volunteers to ensure this event runs smoothly and a sign up genius will be sent out in the coming weeks.

We look forward to your support with this event!

STEM NEWS

Years 4, 5 and 6 have been making pianos and game controllers using Makey Makeys. A Makey Makey is a circuit board that you plug into your computer and it acts like a keyboard. Each metal pad that you see on the Makey Makey is a conductive touch pad.

Year 3 have been testing their knowledge of forces by building chain reaction machines.

The students love building with cups.

Students have been working in teams using their creativity and lots of persistence.

PERFORMING ARTS NEWS

WORKING BEES FOR PERFORMANCE COSTUMES AND PROPS

There are two working Bees over the break, on Monday 1st July and Monday 8th July in the Art room. We will be doing craft-based and sewing-based activities, all skill levels welcome.

We'll be there from 10am to 4pm both Mondays whenever you're able to drop round.

Please sign in at the kiosk in the office, visiting Lisa Paech.

You're welcome to bring your own sewing machine, but we will have some extra machines on hand.

If you have children with you they will need to stay under your direct supervision or be enrolled into Their Care.

Thank you from Lisa, Lou and Clare
