On Wednesday the 26th of June, we opened our classroom to our year 5/6 families. This gave our students the opportunity to share their learning about ecosystems. Term 2 has allowed our students to build their understanding of biodiversity, including ecosystems. They have conducted research on a variety of ecosystems in their reading lessons and have developed a clear understanding of their diversity, what ecosystems need to thrive, and what negatively impacts them. Students were able to share their learning across the curriculum with their writing, they have worked on over this term including an explanation report and scientific reports.
We thank all the families that were able to attend, and we extend our gratitude to our students for a great term of learning. We can't wait to come back and do it all again next term!
This week in Year 1, we invited in our families and carers for our Curiosity launch. This term we have been looking at change over time and different cultural celebrations as part of our Curiosity focus. We have had a lot of fun learning about celebrations, cooking and making crafts. On Tuesday afternoon, our launch started with a colourful Samba dance and finished in our classrooms where students had the opportunity to share their wonderful work and achievements from the term. We loved sharing and celebrating our Term 2 learning.
Thank you to all Year 1 families and carers who were able to attend on the day, it was a fantastic turn out!
