Principal Report

Dear families,

Thank you to everyone for a great Semester. It has been long, hard, tiring at times....but very much worth it!

My highlights have been:

  • Our new preps, new students, and our Welcome Picnic
  • Welcoming new staff to our school
  • Early Years Interviews being so timely this year
  • STOMP for the grade P-2 students. (Grade 3-6 will take part in term 4)
  • Camps for grade 34 and 56
  • Grade 1 fun night and the Grade 2 Sleepover
  • Sporting events and School Athletics
  • Excursions back with a bang!
  • Leadership opportunities for students across the school, especially grade 6 with Somers and Dream and Lead
  • Buddies and lots of activities to support this
  • Prep enrolment interest for 2025 from all of our tours
  • Seeing great growth in our reporting...and our soon to be shared NAPLAN results

STAFFING

We always wave goodbye and/or welcome new staff in the middle of the year. This year is no different.

Our biggest goodbye after 11 years is Dennis. Thank you Dennis for keeping our children safe and well each and every day. It is truly appreciated. Enjoy retirement!!!

We also said farewell recently to Alice and Winter who have been working in our wellbeing team. Replacing Alice this semester will be Jasmine Chambers. Jasmine will be running wellbeing activities (with a creative lens) for those students who need support the most. Congratulations Jasmine.

On the horizon is Mykaela Oakley's upcoming new arrival. We wish Mykaela all the best and hope for the safe arrival of her second child in September/October. Mykaela's last day is Friday 9th August.

We will welcome Rachel Boyle back for term 3. Rachel returns from her parental leave and will replace Mykaela in 56O with Sam Younes.

NAIDOC week falls in the school holidays this year. We have been speaking about this in school during the term, with a focus on literacy. Please see some wonderful artwork that celebrates the week on the NAIDOC website.
