Term 2 Review
There's a well-known saying that 'time flies when you're having fun!' That saying definitely applies when we reflect on all the activities and learning that has taken place at our school in Term 2. Some of the highlights include:
- The 8 week gymnastics program for Kindergarten and Year 2
- Peer Support training for Year 6 and leading weekly sessions for K-5 students
- Walking Safely to School from St Johns Park oval
- The Lion Awakening Ceremony with special guests and our wonderful community attending
- Winter PSSA season and the Cross Country Carnivals for school, zone and Sydney South West
- Various fundraising events - wearing yellow for the Cancer Council, SRC Basketball Competition, Year 6 asked us to wear PJs or Onesies, the P&C Mother's Day stall and the Colour Run is happening this Wednesday
- National Reconciliation Week
- Excursions for Stage 3 to Canberra or to State Parliament, Stage 1 Excursion to Sydney Zoo and Sydney Writer's Festival for Book Club students
- Extra-curricular activities/competitions-Spelling Bee, Multicultural Public Speaking, Premier's Debating, NAIDOC, WriteOn and the various groups including Drama, Choir, Cultural Dance, Jigsaw and Chess
- Parent information sessions about the updated report format and strategies to help with reading comprehension.
- Kindergarten will celebrate 100 Days of Kindergarten this Friday
- Semester 1 Student Progress and Attendance Reports will be sent home on Thursday.
We look forward to many learning opportunities and events in Term 3. Students return to school on Tuesday 23 July.
Have a well-deserved break and stay safe.
