Year 11 Aspire

Year 11 Aspire has been a hit with two groups taking to the West MacDonnell Ranges, with some students who are actually new to the college are camping for the first time on this 10-day Adventure.

From Day 2 students take on many of the leadership roles and have the opportunity to develop their skills supported by highly trained Outdoor Ed staff as they progress through to an abseil on Day 5. From there they enter Hugh Gorge in wetsuits, life jackets and helmets as they voyage on their lilos through a couple of kilometres of the most amazing and remote parts of this National Park.

Following this, some of them did get a little cold and wet but found solace in the comforts of their own space on solo for 48hrs on Days 7 and 8. After some much needed rest it was a hop, skip and a jump as they rejoined their friends and camp families for the final expedition out to the road and the comforts of everyday life.

Be sure to have meaningful conversations with your sons/daughters following these adventures as they will last a lifetime and be in many of the fondest memories of their times at the college.
