Year 8/Partnerships Market Day Celebration: A Success Story!
On Tuesday, our Year 8 and Partnerships for the Future students showcased their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills during the highly anticipated Market Day! The event was the culmination of a five week project where students developed, designed and sold their own products, ranging from handmade crafts to delicious treats, to students from Years F-4.
The students worked tirelessly, conducting market research, analysing their niche audience and developing business models. They created unique items such as bracelets, mugs, key rings and lolly bags, demonstrating both their innovative ideas and understanding of business concepts like profit and loss.
Throughout the day, they took ownership of their mini businesses, setting up vibrant stalls, engaging with younger students and managing transactions. It was an invaluable hands-on learning experience, building essential skills like communication, financial literacy and problem solving.
Market Day was not only a great success in terms of sales, but also in fostering a sense of community and collaboration. Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and dedication. Their creativity and effort truly shone and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements!
We look forward to more exciting events as these budding entrepreneurs continue to grow and learn. Well done Year 8!

Caritas Courage Cup
On the last day of Term 3, the coveted Staff vs Student Caritas Courage Cup was fought out during lunchtime. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term with friendship, sportsmanship and a little bit of competitive pride.
Blue and Gold were the victors led by super coaches Mrs Angelino and Mr Carver. Congratulations to our winners and to Max C and Nathan O who were voted Best On Ground for their respective teams.
Well done to all the players for putting in 100% and thank you to everyone involved in the day.
PJ Day
We raised an amazing $695.95 for our Vinnies Winter Appeal at our Pyjama Day in September. Thank you to everyone who wore their PJs and brought along a gold coin for Vinnies.
Sandhurst Arts on Show
As part of the Performing Arts Program, Year 5 and 6 students participated in a Catholic Education program called, Arts on Show. The art forms of music, drama and dance are enhanced in this program, with professionals from The Australian School of Performing Arts (ASPA Education) provided workshops to students through regular school visits. This culminated in a performance day with schools from the Diocese/Deanery combining to showcase their individual performances and massed items at St Mels Primary School on 19th September, which was attended by our Year 5 cohort. We performed ‘Aint no Mountain High Enough’ as a massed item with other schools and our solo item was ‘Rio’ - a dance in a Hip Hop genre.
Students participated in workshops, rehearsals and a final performance concert, which families were invited to attend. Thank you to the Year 5 and 6 team for supporting the development of this project.

Years 3, 4 and 10 Liturgy
Last week we celebrated our Years 3/4 and Year 10 Liturgy. The Liturgy focus was World Homelessness Day. In Australia, over 45,000 people will sleep rough on the street. The number of people without a stable home to live in is increasing. We need to act now. The students listened to the Gospel story that is based on a parable that Jesus told called, “The Parable of the Friend at Midnight.”
Students then watched a video of “The Parable of the Friend at Midnight” and saw what the message is that Jesus is trying to teach us. This parable teaches us that God is always there for us. Just as God is always there for us, we need to be there for each other, particularly for those in need.
