Thank you for the lovely, warm welcome I have received from the St Augustine’s College and Parish community. I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to be in the Catholic Identity and Community role, and look forward to working with you all in partnership to continue and extend the wonderful work being undertaken.
We have had an exciting and wondrous beginning to Term 4 with our Years 3, 4 and 10 Liturgy in Week 1 and our Years 1, 2 and 11 Liturgy in Week 2. Thank you to our students and staff for their efforts and participation with this. Thank you to our community members who also attended these Liturgies. Our Parish also celebrated their Multicultural Mass on the 13th October, which so beautifully showcased the diversity and connectedness of our Parish and community members.
Today, Friday 18th October, is our Year 12's Celebration Day!
We are so proud of this amazing cohort of students and pray for them as they prepare for their exams, Graduation and future adventures.
The Year 12 students have participated in a variety of activities, learning experiences and reflections leading to their final day. A theme for our Year 12s has been based on the Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13) ~
31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
“We plant the seeds that one day will grow. We water the seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise. We lay foundations that will need further development. We provide yeast that produces effects far beyond our capabilities.”
Archbishop Oscar Romero
We are celebrating who they are and what they have achieved already! Their growth through challenges, successes and everything in between is to be valued and celebrated.
Lord God,
We pray for the future of all our Year 12 students, that you will guide their footsteps and establish their plans whichever direction they head.
May each student know your love, grace, and plans for their life.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
As we acknowledge World Mission Day, on Sunday 20th October we pray ~
May your grace, O Lord, we pray, at all times go before us and follow after and make us always determined to carry out good works. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
