We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future. We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
You have probably heard from your children about the installation of two Gaga Pits at the school that happened over the term break. They have been very popular with our students, and Gaga Ball is a really inclusive, exciting and fun game the students can enjoy together with their classes or during break times.
The Gaga Pits are 100% funded by fundraising from the Parents & Friends Association. On behalf of all the students who are greatly enjoying the Gaga Pits I would like to thank the P&F for all the hard work that has gone in to running events to raise funds for them.
The P&F is always looking for new members, it is a great way to make connections with other parents at school, make a contribution and the fundraising involved has great outcomes for all the students here at school.
If you have interest in joining the P&F or finding out more about the work they do, please email them kalindapandf@gmail.com or see their page on our website https://www.kalinda.vic.edu.au/page/83/Parents-&-Friends
Another fantastic contribution from the P&F was our disco. The disco had an underwater theme and was greatly enjoyed by the students. The decorations in the stadium looked amazing, the DJ did a great job and our students got to have a great time at the end of last term.
We have noticed lately that some families have been parking in the staff car park before and after school to drop their students off. We have become increasingly concerned about this as it is putting the safety of students at risk.
With several students at the beginning and end of the day entering and exiting the school near the carpark, we want to limit the number of vehicles going in and out of the car park. We also have some staff members (such as our integration aides) who begin work at 9:00 am, so walking your children across the carpark after parking in there is very dangerous.
Please note that only those with a valid accessible parking permit can enter the carpark outside of staff members.

We are very proud that we received a Teaching Initiative Grant from Bankfirst to support our Community Recycling 3D Printing Program. A huge thank you to Mr Todd for leading this initiative and writing the grant submission with Vicki Beard.
Please see the article and video about the initiative in the article below on the Bankfirst website.

Please keep your eye out for further information about signing up for our Working Bee on the 27th October at 9:00am. A bbq and drinks will be put on to keep everyone fed and refreshed, and we would love to see as many families at the school as possible.
We have been very pleased to welcome Megumi back to school this term. Thank you to the Beard family who are currently hosting Megumi. We are seeking further host families from the beginning of November through until the end of the school term.
If you are interested in doing so, please contact White sensei via email: jessica.white@education.vic.gov.au
