Grade 3

Reading Our Grade 3 students recently showcased their reading skills by performing the story Hey, Little Ant in pairs for their classmates. Through this activity, they practised reading fluently, using expressive character voices, and following punctuation to enhance the story's flow. Their ability to bring the characters to life while maintaining clarity and rhythm was a joy to watch. The students' confidence grew as they shared this entertaining tale with their peers, highlighting their dedication to becoming strong, expressive readers.

Writing Our Grade 3 students have been diving into the structure of information reports, learning essential language features to improve their writing. They explored the importance of using capital letters for proper nouns, ensuring the names of people, places, and specific things are highlighted correctly. The students also practised sorting facts under subheadings, helping them organise their information clearly. Finally, they worked on "upleveling" their descriptive words, finding stronger and more precise vocabulary to enhance their writing.

Maths In Math, we have been exploring money, learning how to recognize coins and bills, and understanding how to add and subtract using money. The students enjoyed practising with play money and even looked at the canteen menu to calculate change. We’ve seen great progress in their ability to handle simple transactions!

Integrated In History, students have been looking at different cultures from around the world and their different celebrations. They formulated questions to ask families about their culture so that we can compare them in a few weeks time.

We are really excited to be heading to Camp Briars next week and can't wait for our first School Camp!
