Mordialloc College Mock Trial
Part 2 and the final outcome
You may recall last weeks news from the Mordialloc Supreme Court, and the murder trial of the Crown V T. Barbaro (also known as year 10 student Petar).
The court heard from many witnesses, examination after examination until it was time for closing statements.
In their closing statements, the prosecution claimed that Barbaro intentionally murdered Caruso, and that it was the head trauma from the push that ultimately caused Caruso's death, thus meaning that Barbaro did kill Ryan Caruso.
Arguing against this, was the defence, claiming that Barbaro acted in self-defence and that there was no evidence of a guilty mind, or intent of murder, so Barbaro is innocent of intentional murder.
After the closing statements were presented, the Judge dismissed the jury to deliberate their verdict. Once ready, and after careful consideration of the facts of the case, and the details of the event, the jurors returned to the courtroom.
The jury foreman (Harry R) announced that they find the accused Not Guilty of murder. Barbaro is not responsible for the death of Ryan Caruso.
To conclude the R V Barbaro trial, the Judge declares that Barbaro is “free to leave the court as an innocent man”. With that, the Supreme Court of Mordialloc was dismissed.
